Insanity Review

I’ve owned P90X and P90X+ for years and loved them when I used them. However, I suffered some injuries from overuse due to how the programs are laid out. Basically, the course of the 90 days has you doing a lot of pull-ups. If you are not properly conditioned for this amount of pull-ups, tendentious can occur. Essentially your tendons are not prepared for the amount of workload P90X throws you in to. After switching to a similar style of workout (Turbulence Training & Bodyweight Workouts) I was able to get much better gains and also completely rid myself of the overuse

KettleBell Practice, Wednesday, August 18 2010

Today I was searching for a new progression from the bodyweight only workouts I’ve been training with here in Oklahoma City. I decided to give KettleBell training a shot. I did an extensive dynamic warm up and joint mobility program before getting started.

Today was a bit easier, but still really tough. I moved up the sets from 30 to 42. Focus is to strengthen legs and core to be able to properly complete a set of 10 reps on each leg doing a “Pistol”, which is a one legged squat.

I don’t think Lance Armstrong would fear my bicycle, but sometimes I do. Planning to ride from my house in Oklahoma City around Lake Hefner three times and then back.

Advanced Workout Scheduled

Today should be fun. I’ve started final phase of my advanced training program.
