Today I was searching for a new progression from the bodyweight only workouts I’ve been training with here in Oklahoma City. I decided to give KettleBell training a shot. I did an extensive dynamic warm up and joint mobility program before getting started.
When I say practice, I mean practice. The wide range of KettleBell moves seem simple but are rather complex if you do them with proper form. One particular exercise I couldn’t get properly – the swing. This one is going to take a lot of work.
Some of what I practiced:
Wall squats – 35lb. KB
Swings – 35lb. KB
Turkish Get Ups – Body weight only (there are 7 particular movements to this exercise and must be done properly to avoid injury)
Let’s just say my KettleBell was ‘parked’ a lot of the time. I am looking forward to learning more about this amazing new tool in my fitness belt.
